How do I report a Junk or Phishing email?
Reporting in Outlook
- Select the message that you want to report as
spam or phishing.
- Click the “Report Message” button in your
Outlook Ribbon.
- Choose the option for “Phishing” or “Junk".

What happens when I report a Phishing email?
- The message will be moved to your “Deleted” folder
- The Mimecast Dynamic Banners will update for all
other recipients of the same message advising that the message was reported as
a Phishing Attempt
- You will receive an automated email from
Mimecast acknowledging your report.
- The Information Technology Department will receive a Security Alert
- You will receive a follow up from the
Information Technology Department with a final determination and any required
actions.
What happens when I report a “Junk” message?
- The message will be moved to your “Deleted”
Folder
- The email senders email address will be added to
your Mimecast personal “Block” list
- All future emails from that sender will be
automatically deleted
What if I accidentally report a firm email as Junk or Phishing?
Your report will be returned, and no further action is
required.
How do I remove an email address from my Mimecast “Block”
list?
- Select the “Mimecast” tab in the Outlook Ribbon
- Click the “Manage Senders” button
- Remove the email address from the “Block” list
