How do I report Junk and Phishing Emails?

Please DO NOT forward any future suspected junk or phishing emails to the ITDepartment@gustlaw.com email. 

How do I report a Junk or Phishing email?

Reporting in Outlook

  1. Select the message that you want to report as spam or phishing.
  2. Click the “Report Message” button in your Outlook Ribbon.
  3. Choose the option for “Phishing” or “Junk".

What happens when I report a Phishing email?

  1. The message will be moved to your “Deleted” folder
  2. The Mimecast Dynamic Banners will update for all other recipients of the same message advising that the message was reported as a Phishing Attempt
  3. You will receive an automated email from Mimecast acknowledging your report.
  4. The Information Technology Department will receive a Security Alert
  5. You will receive a follow up from the Information Technology Department with a final determination and any required actions. 

What happens when I report a “Junk” message?

  1. The message will be moved to your “Deleted” Folder
  2. The email senders email address will be added to your Mimecast personal “Block” list
  3. All future emails from that sender will be automatically deleted

What if I accidentally report a firm email as Junk or Phishing?

Your report will be returned, and no further action is required. 

How do I remove an email address from my Mimecast “Block” list?

  1. Select the “Mimecast” tab in the Outlook Ribbon
  2. Click the “Manage Senders” button
  3. Remove the email address from the “Block” list
